Congratulations to our graduate student Ethan Stolen and his advisor, Assistant Professor James Sohn, who just published a new paper in Technical Innovations & Patient Support in Radiation Oncology (tipsRO). Also included as first author is Siddhant Sen, an undergraduate student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, who interned in Dr. Sohn’s lab this summer.
The paper highlights a new program for adaptive brachytherapy practice. The new software, ONCOSEED, enables clinicians to quickly compare prostate volume studies and reconfigure the radioactive seed placement with minimal delays, saving valuable time and enabling physicians to complete an additional volume study before treatment.
