The Graduate Program in Medical Physics congratulates Gia Jadick (La Rivière Lab), who successfully defended her dissertation on June 18, 2026.
Her thesis is titled: "Spectral X-ray Imaging and Phase Retrieval."
Gia earned her B.S. in Physics and Political Science from Duke University in 2020 and began her Ph.D. studies at UChicago in 2021. She worked with Dr. Patrick La Rivière, developing spectral X-ray phase-contrast imaging: an emerging technique for enhanced visualization of weakly absorptive structures. She is broadly interested in X-ray imaging, computed tomography, computational imaging, and inverse problems.
